Creating a Babysitter Resume

When creating any resume, the first two questions that come to mind are:

  • What information do I need on my resume?
  • How can I make my resume stand out?

Well, here we will give a break-down of what information you need to include in your resume,in addition, a resume example to aid you in creating your Babysitting Resume.

What include in a Babysitter Resume

Resume is defined as a brief description of a person’s education, qualifications, and experiences. This helps the person interviewingyou gets a simple understanding of what you are capable of.

As a babysitter, the parents need to know that the person that they will entrust their child with, will care for them and keep them safe.

For your resume, you should include important information such as contact information, an opening statement, key skills and strength, technical/ software skills, personal attributes, education and employment history, and references.

Contact Information

Contact information includes your name, address, phone number, and email.

Many people think that the address is optional, but it is recommended since everything is done online.

Recruiters use ATS, application tracker software, and not putting your location can cause the program to skip you all together.

As a babysitter, this can help so parents can find a sitter that would be available and close by when needed.

List of Objective/ Summary

After your contact information, you have your opening statement. The opening statement is your objective or a summary of who you are and what you are bringing to the job.

This should only be a sentence or two at the most. Let the parents know who they will be hiring.

List of Skills & Strengths for a Babbysitter Resume

Now we are getting to the part where you get to show off. Your resume should include a list of 10 to 15 skills and strengths that you will bring to the job.

When creating your list of skills and strengths, try to remember all of the things you have learned in past jobs, studies, or through volunteering. That also includes the skills learned using software or any other programs.

Personal Attributes

Personal attributes sections include information on characteristics that would make you perfect for the job.

If you do not have much work experience, you can make a list of things that will aid in demonstrating your recruiter that you are a reliable, honest, quick to learn, and trustworthy person.

You can have 3 to 5 attributes, that have to be different from what you have in your skills.

Education History

Educational history needs to show your highest level of education, but you do not need to put your results unless needed by your job. In addition, to make you stand out with your education history, add academic achievements that you have accomplished. Since this is for babysitters, if you have finished high school and you are continuing your studies, you would need to put your highest education level which is high school, and the school you are in at the moment with an expectant delivery date.

Employment/ Experience History

Another important section is your employment history. When writing all your employment history, start with your most recent and work backward. The information needed for your work history includes information such as your job title and the dates you have worked there. If you have not had a job, then you can have work experience through school, internships, or volunteering.

References

In your resume, you should also add two references that could give you a positive recommendation. You would need to provide their name, position title, and information of how they can be contacted such as the phone number and email.
