Is Yerf-Dog still in business? ›

Established in 1996 as the Yerf-Dog manufacturing company, the company endured the trials of the market until 2005, when they sadly closed their doors and shut down their operations and manufacturing.

In 2005 Yerf-Dog the motor drive division of FF Acquisition Corp (dba Flexible Flyer), closed its operation and manufacturing. At that time their parts and inventory were auctioned off. BMI Karts purchased the remaining parts. BMI is not Yerf-Dog (or Flexible Flyer) and has no affiliation with them.

Q: How fast will my Yerf-Dog Fun Kart go? A: The engines have a governor that limits their output and the karts top speed. The top speed of our karts with a 5 HP engine (1203A, 21203, etc.) is 20 to 24 mph. The top speed of our karts with a 6 HP engine (3002, 3200, 3202, 1410, etc.) is 30 to 34 mph.

For safety, limit total passenger weight to 250lbs.

These can be usually found at indoor go-kart tracks and are a cheap option for casual racing. Most rental karts are equipped with a 200cc 4-stroke engine and its power is restricted for safety reasons. For kid karts, they can achieve a top speed of 40kph, with the karts for adults topping out at 70kph.

It's a yerf dog "spiderbox". It's a go kart/mini buggy with front independent suspension and a 150cc engine with CVT trans. My plans are to lift the front end, tune the engine a bit, and outfit it for back road/2track/oRV route cruising with my wife.
